Daryl E. Bosu, Deputy National Director of A Rocha, an environmentally friendly non-governmental organization has called on the government to correct the mistakes committed as far as the prosecution of the illegal mining kingpin, Aisha Huang is concerned.
Aisha Huang deported
Aisha Huang was let off the hook under strange circumstances some four(4) years ago while standing trial for engaging in illegal mining activities in the country.
She has however, returned to continued from from where she left off and have subsequently been re- arrested and re-arraign before an Accra court with four other Chinese nationals.
Reacting to the news on TV3‘s Ghana Tonight on September 5, monitored by GhanaPlus.com, Mr Bonsu said government must used the second opportunity to correct the mistake the committed during her first trial or could no longer have the moral justification to jail its own citizens engaged in same.
“I think that we really need to let the law works now than ever before and correct all the mistakes otherwise we cannot have the moral justification to keep putting our own citizens in prison whiles we are letting foreigners who are committing the most heinous of atrocities rather escape without any punitive actions against them,” he said.
He explained Aisha’s her re-arrest only shows something is wrong with the administration of justices as afar as illegal mining is concerned, especially, when the persons involved are politically connected.
Aisha Huang, the A Rocha boss said is a very politically connected person.
“It tells you that there is something wrong with the administration justice when it comes to mining related matters is selective and is not really sufficiently dealing with people who are involve particularly y politically expose persons”.
“And I can say that Aisha Huang is a very politically expose person and being in Ghana for so long before 2017 and her arrest and all that it only takes somebody who is politically connected to be allowed to sneak out of the country or be deported and come back again to do what she was doing before,”
