“How did Aisha Huang get into Ghana?” – Franklin Cudjoe asks

The President and Founder of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe has quizzed how the Chinese illegal mining kingpin, Aisha Huang found her way back in the country some four years after her deportation.

“How did Aisha Huang get into Ghana?,” his tweet reads.

Mr Cudjoe asked the question in a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com on Tuesday, September 6.

Aisha Huang deported

Aisha Huang was deported in 2019 under strange circumstances at a time she was facing trail for illegal mining following her arrest in the year 2017.

Her case was subsequently discontinued.

The Senior Minister at the time, Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo in an attempt to justify the deportation said jailing the illegal mining kingpin known as “galamsey queen” will not solve the country’s economic problem.

He emphasize the significance of Ghana’s diplomatic ties with China adding “So when there are these kinds of arrangements, there are other things behind the scenes”

“We have a very good relationship with China. Today, the main company that is helping develop the infrastructure system in Ghana is Sinohydro, it is a Chinese Company. It is the one that is going to help process our bauxite and provide about two billion dollars to us… So when there are these kinds of arrangements, there are other things behind the scenes,” Mr Osafo Marfo said.

“Putting that lady (Aisha Huang) in jail in Ghana is not going to solve your economic problems. It is not going to make you happy or me happy, that’s not important, the most important thing is that she has been deported out of Ghana,” he added.

Report said Aisha upon entry into the country also registered onto the Ghana Identification Authority’s Ghana Card as Aisha En.
