Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong has promised Ghanaians to investigate the killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale and Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North JB Danquah if he wins to become the President.
He says he has been accused of having a hand in the murder cases hence he needs to exonerate himself.
Speaking on the Good Evening Ghana show on Tuesday, January 31, the flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said as President he will show interest in the two cases.
That will force the Police to act to find the culprits, he stated.
“The problem is if the president shows interest the Police will work and I will show interest. “I will show interest because it is me who has been accused, it is important to exonerate myself” he said.
Ahmed Suale who was a member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tigereye PI team, was shot dead in January 2019 by unidentified men who were reportedly riding a motorbike.
He was shot three times; twice in the chest and another in the neck while driving to his Madina residence.
Prior to his death, Mr Agyapong had exposed the face of the journalist, on his television network, Net 2.
Regarding JB Danquah, the then NPP MP was stabbed in the neck and chest multiple times on February 9, 2016, at his residence at Shiashie in Accra by suspected armed robbers, killing him in the process.
One Daniel Asiedu, aka Sexy Dondon, was arrested and charged with murder is yet to be convicted of the crime.
