National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Joseph Yammin has warned the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) to forget about its breaking the 8 mantra if its intention is to rig the 2024 election to achieve it that.
Speaking in a Facebook post sighted by GhanaPlus.com, he said the NDC will not go to the elections unprepared.
Mr Yamin was responding to comments made by the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong at the NPP’s unity walk in Kwahu on Saturday, April 8.
‘When I hear people speak so childish like what a dishonorable member of parliament by name Bryan Acheampong or something is reported to have said I get to wonder if indeed they know and understand the exact words coming out of their mouths”.
“Let me tell them and I mean the NPP that if their thinking of breaking the 8 is not about how good they’ve been as a government but how prepared they are to rig the elections then they should forget about the so called breaking the 8,” he said.
“If their thinking is that the NDC will go into the 2024 elections unprepared then they should rethink because we are ready to meet them,” My Yammin added.
NPP will never hand over power to NDC
Mr Acheampong on Saturday, April 8 told the massive NPP party faithful’s who had gathered inside Mpraeso township that the party will show the NDC they have the men should they adopt any aggressiveness come 2024 elections.
He also indicated there was no way the ruling government will hand over power to its main opposition party adding that they will do all it takes to ensure power does not fall in their hands.
“If they intend to use any aggressiveness and foolishness in 2024, we will show them that we have the man. We have the men,” he said.
“For we the NPP party which is in power now, for us to stand on a platform and hand over power to the NDC, it will never happen.
“It will never happen!, it will never happen!, it will never happen!, it will not!,” Bryan Acheampong said repeatedly.
“Anything possible that we will do to ensure that 2024 elections NPP will be in power, we will,” he added.
You will humbly hand over power to the NDC – Yammin
Responding to the comment, Mr Yammin said contrary to Mr Bryan Aheampong’s assertion, the NPP will humbly hand over to the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama come 2024.
He revealed the NDC will go into the election with “YOU SLAP I SLAP, YOU KICK I KICK, YOU STOP I STOP” as guiding principle as long as he remains the National Organizer.
“Let me tell them and they should mark it that THEY WILL BEGTO HANDOVER POWER TO JOHN MAHAMA AND THE NDC IN 2024 if Ghanaians vote against them”.
“Let no one deceive them to think we are not prepared for them come 2024”.
“I still stand by my campaign pledge to the NDC delegates that the Moses principle of YOU SLAP I SLAP, YOU KICK I KICK, YOU STOP I STOP is the guiding principle of the NDC into 2024 as long as I remain the National Organizer of the Great NDC,” Mr Yammin said.
