5 suspects arrested over murder of Mfantseman MP Ekow Quansah Hayford

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of 5 people suspected of murdering the Member of Parliament for Mfantsiman Constituency, Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford.

A statement from the Ghana Police Twitter account read, “Five persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the Member of Parliament for Mfantsiman Constituency, Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford. They are being taken through lawful Police procedures. Further updates will be given in due time.”

The Member of Parliament was murdered by armed men after his car was attacked on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region.

Meanwhile, Ophelia Hayford, the wife of the murdered MP has quit her job at the Ghana Police Service in order to replace him as the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency in the upcoming 2020 election.
