Bolt blocks at least 100 drivers for staging strike in Sekondi-Takoradi
Some drivers of ride-hailing services in the Western Region embarked on a sit-down strike to protest the unfair treatment being meted out to them by their partners from Monday, March 21st.
Drivers of Bolt, Uber, Blackride and other ride-hailing services in the region say they have been enduring low fares, poor security and payment of high commissions for some time now and it is about time they did something about it.
Mr Kojo Williams who is the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ghana Online Drivers Association told Skyy News, the above-mentioned points are not the only reasons they are embarking on the strike by rumorous others as well.
However, after their strike, at least a hundred (100) drivers from Bolt, including all the executives of the Online Drivers Association have been blocked from using the services.
According to Mr Williams who spoke to Skyy News, an informant released names of the drivers including all the executives who participated in the strike to some officials of Bolt which led to such actions being taken.
He made it known they are disappointed in Bolt for using such drastic measures instead of listening to their pleas since the recent increase in fuel prices and economic hardship is obvious for everyone to see.
However, since this is a security issue, they have filed a case at the regional police headquarters of the Ghana Police Service.
