The Western Regional Minister has inaugurated a Local organising committee for the upcoming National Farmers Day celebration which is set to take place in Tarkwa.
The local organising committee which is set up to support the national committee for the National Farmers Day celebration comprises of 9-members chaired by the Regional Minister, Dr Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah and his deputy will be the Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Benjamin Kesse.
He said the Local Organising Committee will plan and implement activities that will lead to the observance of a successful National Farmers Day celebration in the region and other duties as well.
The 39th celebration is on the theme: “Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience.
The Minister said some local sub-committees would be set up to support the National Committee for the Farmers Day celebration.
The LOC is expected to lead the successful execution of the National Farmers Day celebration, which sought to recognize the contribution of farmers to nation-building.
The committee is expected to present a weekly minute on plan activities for possible review for actions.
They would work in the areas of Logistics, Publicity, Security and Venue, Welfare and Exhibition among others.
