Edudzi Tamakloe pleads with Gov't to address electricity issues in Krobo

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe has appealed to government to as a matter of agency address the electricity situation in the Krobo and its environs.

 According to him, the matter is becoming a national security issue and needs to be address as soon as possible.

Mr Edudzi Tamakloe made the call on TV3 NewDay on Monday, August 8, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

The NDC stalwart also pleaded with stakeholders in the energy sector to ensure and end to whatever that occasioned the disconnection of the entire Kroba and its surrounding communities from the national electricity grade.

“I want to use your platform to appeal to government to reconsider the issue with electricity within the Krobo enclave Somanya and it’s environ. The matter is beginning to take a national security position and I will plead with the various stake holders to all for a meeting SAP to have an amiable solution to the electricity challenge within the Krobo enclave. I don’t think they deserve what is going on. Whatever the problem is I think that we need to find solution to it “

EG cut power supply to Kroboland

The people of the Yilo Krobo and its sounding communities in the Eastern have been without light for nearly two weeks following a decision by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to cut power supply to the area.

Graphionline.com report, the decision followed actions by a section of the people in communities not to allow the company to replace their postpaid meters with prepaid ones.

The development which angered some resident of the area as seen electricity poles in the area belonging to ECG cut down by on Friday by what ECG officials described as unscrupulous persons.

However, Chiefs and people of the area have appealed to the ECG to restore the power to save business and economic activities in the area.
