The saga of the sale of the Anaji CK Mann continues as the executives of the Anaji Estate Association have taken a step to meet the Effia-Kwesiminstim Municipal Assembly (EKMA).

Speaking to Skyy News, the Secretary of the Anaji Estate Association, Mr David Akorful said they have met with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of EKMA, Mr Kojo Acquah, and have been presented with documents to prove that the Anaji CK Mann Park belongs to the government and not State Housing Company as they claim.

According to him, EKMA says they will be conducting their own investigation into the matter to ascertain some facts.

“We presented EKMA with documents that contained the history of the park making them aware that the park does not belong to State Housing Company as they are claiming but it belongs to the government and was earmarked for the construction of a market.”

“They told us the information presented is new to them and they will conduct their investigation to ascertain some facts which they claim we will hear from them within a week.”

He said that State Housing Company created the impression that they are the custodians of the land and did not do due diligence before leasing it out to a private investor.

“EKMA believed State Housing Company was the custodian of the land and had the rights to lease it which is why they approved the permit for works to be done there. But our history proves otherwise, the land belongs to the government and the people of the Anaji Estate.”
