9 University students perish in Asuboi road crash

Nine University of Education, Winneba (UEW) students have died in a fatal road crash that occurred on Sunday, March 13, at Asuboi, near Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi Highway (N6).

The crash, which involved a Universe commercial bus and a stationary 40-footer-container loaded with wood, led to the road’s closure.

A news brief from the Police said they had deployed the Suhum District Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Accident Prevention Squad (APS) to cordon the scene and assist motorists.

It said an emergency crew, including Road Safety Management Service Limited, were also on-site assisting to remove the vehicle from the road to pave way for traffic flow.
