Josephine Panyin Mensah, the Takoradi woman at the centre of an alleged kidnapping is set to re-appear before the court on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
According to a Police report from an investigation, Josephine faked her pregnancy and kidnap to deceive her husband, which she was charged by Takoradi Circuit Court A on two counts which were disturbing public peace and deceiving a public officer.
The court presided over by Justice Michael Cudjoe Ampadu granted a GHc50,000 bail with two sureties during the first hearing after the court listened to the plea of a team of lawyers to grant the accused who pleaded not guilty bail since the offence in question was a misdemeanour and therefore bailable.
The court after the bail, adjourned the case to the 14th of October, 2021 where the full trial of the case began, the court and the police hand in hand are investigating the issue to pass judgement as soon as possible.
The court set the 11th of November as the date for Josephine Panyin Mensah to reappear in court for further investigations on the issue.
Josephine, went missing on Sept.16, 2021, carrying a “pregnancy” but was only found some days after without the pregnancy which gained national attention and interest with many twists and turns emanating from the incident.
