Let’s start appreciating made-in-Ghana products – Fijai Chief – Skyy Power FM
The Chief of Fijai and the acting President of the Sekondi Traditional Council Nana Berima Ekow Gyesa II is entreating Ghanaians to start appreciating Made in Ghana Products.
Speaking at the Ghana Heritage Month organised by the Ghana Museum and Monuments Board in collaboration with STMA, WRCC and GES at Fort Orange in Sekondi on Thursday, March 9, Nana Berima Ekow Gyesa II indicated that Africans are equally knowledgeable as Europeans and Americans and they shouldn’t be seen as a superior race.
According to him, Africans can produce their own electronic gadgets and other products as far as they invest in technology and do more practical education.
He said, “Are we trying to say Africans were not created equally as Europeans or Americans, I know we are all equal and most always do something because we are capable, our lives should not be dependant on white people and must take our destiny into our own hands and make bold decisions concerning us.”
He entreated the Ghana Museum and Monuments Board to always keep tourist attractions in the Western Region in great shape to keep attracting tourists so the vision of the region becoming a tourist hub will become a reality.
“I want the Ghana Museum board to keep these tourist attractions in great shape, the region is gradually developing into a hub, we now have Fort Orange, Bisa Abrewa Museum and other attractions which they will not have to travel to Cape Coast to visit tourist sites anymore” he added.
The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Education Director, Madam Nelly Sally Coleman speaking at the Heritage Month program indicated that she is excited about the decision by Ghana Monuments to promote tourism in the Western Region.
However, she is calling that the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board be supported be it financial or material resources to help maintain tourist sites and continue telling the history of the Western Region.
