Public Services Workers Union to strike over unpaid allowance

The Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) has announced it will embark on nationwide strike on Monday October 21 over government’s failure to pay allowances due its members on the Single Spine Salary Structure.

TV3 report cited by GhanaPlus.com said the strike  if embarked upon as scheduled will affect activities of some 59 public sector institutions including the country’s election body, the Electoral Commission of Ghana who is preparing to hold the 2024 election some 53days away.

According to leadership of the union, government has not been fair to members since the implementation of the Single Spin pay policy commenced some ten years ago.

The noted more of its members have been short changed as far as the policy is concerned.
