Some Ghanaians on social media have began a campaign to register their displeasure about government directive to begin compulsory vaccination at the country’s Airport, Kotako International Airport.

Ministry of Health begins compulsory vaccination at Airport

The government of Ghana, through the Ghana Health Service on Thursday December, 9 issued a statement directing a compulsory vaccination for all persons, 18years and above arriving at the Aiport.

The directive is to commence on Sunday, December 12 and is to curtail the spread of the Omicron COVID-19 variant which is gaining grounds worldwide.

“All persons 18years and above arriving in Ghana will be required to provide evidence of full vaccination for a COVID-19 vaccine.

All unvaccinated Ghanaians and residents of Ghana who are currently outside the country and intend to return within 14days from the midnight of 12th December 2021 are exempted.

However, they would be vaccinated on arrival at the Airport”

“ll Ghanaians traveling out of the country are to be fully vaccinated effective midnight 12th December 2021,” part of the statement said .

The news has however, not gone down well with some Ghanaians who have taken to social media to protest.

They are of the view, they should be allowed to make the choice whether to accept the vaccine or not and not be forced on them.

The campaigners have  also described the compulsory vaccination as slavery, abuse of human fight and an imposition on Ghanaian people.
