The assembly members of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) have endorsed the government nominee, Mr Abdul Issah Mumin to serve a four-year term as Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE).

Most of the assembly members and government appointees had earlier hinted that they will give another mandate to the nominee who according to them displayed exceptional leadership during his first term.

Out of fifty-one (51) assembly members, forty-six (46) voted yes for Mr Issah Mumin after the results were made public making it a ninety per cent (90%) confirmation.

After the elections, Mr Mumin expressed his disappointment to Skyy Power 93.5FM and made it known he expected a hundred per cent (100%) confirmation from the Assembly Members.

“I was expecting ninety-eight per cent (98%) from the vote counts but if I have gotten ninety per cent (90%), then I am good to go, as an MCE, I might have stepped on the toes of some Assemblymembers.”

“All I will say is, whoever didn’t vote, we will have to come together and work as a team to put Sekondi-Takoradi on a higher level.”

He indicated that his doors are open for collaboration and all Assemblymembers should find it necessary to come to him in times of need.

However, he will work on the sanitation issue in the Western Region and also fix all deplorable roads in the Metropolis as there will not be any potholes within the city.
