The Western Regional Minister Is charging civil servants to take decisions on behalf of the people in the right way to improve the status and well-being of citizens across the districts in the country.
Dr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensag speaking National Development Planning Committee’s (NDCP) 2021 District League Table (DLT) Regional Dissemination workshop and launch of the 2022 District League Table said the utmost goal of civil servants and decisions makers is to improve the welfare of the citizens who have entrusted these positions to them.
He said, “As NDPC presents us the results of the 7th DLT, we should all see it as a call to action and accelerate our efforts in the provision of services to our dear citizens.”
“The last time I went around, I made it clear that I don’t understand why it takes only 30 days for STMA to issue a building permit and it takes 100 days for Amenfi Central to issue a permit.”
“Because of this, we had to change every single civil servant in Amenfi Central so that we can make an impact, if your district is not doing well and it shows up in our report, we will charge you again.”
He said the results civil servants and decision makers get from their work must be considered a call to redirect their resources and investment into areas that are progressing while maintaining regions that haven’t seen any progress.
