The Supreme Court of Ghana has dismissed the 2020 election petition filed by the National Democratic Congress Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
A unanimous decision by a seven-member panel, led by the Chief Justice of Ghana, Justice Kwesi Anim Yeboah said they have no reason to order a re-run of the elections as prayed by the petitioner, Mr Mahama.
“The petitioner has not produced any evidence to rebut the presumptions created by the publication of CI 135. We are therefore, have no reason to order a re-run. We accordingly dismiss the petition,” the Chief Justice said in the judgment.
The Supreme Court gave its judgment on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in a live telecast proceedings monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
Annul 2020 Presidential election results
