Former British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin has disclosed he never knew Ghana’s neigbouring country Nigeria could also boast of Jollof, a popular rice cuisine in West and Sub-Saharan Africa.
According to him, there was no need finding out about Nigeria Jollof when there was a superior version in Ghana.
There is no way Nigeria Jollof could be better than Ghana Jollof
Mr Benjamin who served as his country’s representative to Ghana from 2014 to 2017 made the comment while reacting to a post shared by the Australian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Gregory Andrews on Ghana Jollof.
Mr Andrews had indicated in a twitter post that there was no way Nigeria Jollof could be better than Ghana Jollof.
He made the comment after eaten the rich Ghanaian delicacy on the busy Oxford Street in Accra.
Why bother finding Nigeria Jollof when you have the superior version in Ghana
Commenting on the post, Mr Benjamin wrote: “I wasn’t actually aware that there was Nigerian #jollof, but why bother finding out when you have the superior version from #Ghana? In footballing terms, if you’re at the top of the #jollof Premier league, why worry about what’s going on down in #jollof League Two?”
.@AusAmbGHA – I wasn’t actually aware that there was Nigerian #jollof, but why bother finding out when you have the superior version from #Ghana?
