Wife of murdered Mfantseman MP, Ophelia Hayford begins campaign for votes

The wife of murdered Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Mrs. Ophelia Hayford has begun her campaign to canvas for votes from the people of the constituency in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Mrs. Hayford, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) was chosen by the New Patriotic Party to replace her late husband, Ekow Quansah Hayford who had already filed his nomination to be re-elected as Member of Parliament prior to his untimely death in a robbery attack.
She subsequently, sent her resignation letter to the Ghana Police Service and has since filed for her nomination after the Electoral Commission re-opens nomination to enable the party find a replacement for the candidate.
The campaign tour
A photo of the new Parliamentary Candidate for the Mfantseman Constituency in the company of the Central Regional Minister, Kwamina Duncan, and other party supporters believed to be in the middle of a campaign tour of the constituency has been cited by GhanaPlus.com
Mrs. Hayford was in mourning cloth (black) while on the tour.
Member of Parliament for Mfantseman murdered by Arm Robbers
The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford was shot dead by arm robbers at about 1 AM, on October 9, while returning from a campaign trip on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze road in the Central Region.
