A member of the New Patriotic Party’s Communication Team, Mr Solomon Owusu has taken a swipe at the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency, Mr Kennedy Agyepong over his recent public outburst about the Member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Ms Adwoa Safo.
Speaking on Pan African TV’s Alhaji and Alhaji on Saturday February 26 monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said some of the utterances of the MP makes their work as communicators very difficult.
“I will use this opportunity to also as it were talk directly to Kennedy Agyapong that some of the utterances give communicators a lot of work to do. Either than that what are we doing this morning. All that we have come this morning to do is to be discussing allegations,” Mr Owusu said.
“I don’t remember the last time, Adwoa Safo through an official communiqué appointed Kennedy Agyapong as her spokesperson and for that matter anybody that takes the words of Kennedy Agyapong as the gospel truth will not be doing him or herself any good service because it remains an allegation,” he added.
He made the comment when contributing to discussions about allegations made against the Dome Kwabenya MP who also doubles as the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection by Mr Agyepong.
Kennedy Agyepong run down Adwoa Safo
Mr Agyepong in a recent interview accused Ms Adwoa Safo of sabotaging government business with her continues absence from her parliamentary duties .
According to him, Ms Adwoa Safo is demanding a Deputy Majority Leader position and that explains her absence from the house and wondered why the Minister will demand for a position lower than what she already has.
Mr Agyapong also answered in the affirmative when asked if Ms Safo’s seat should be declared vacant.
“She says she wants to be Deputy Majority Leader, that woman has failed in life. A whole Cabinet Minister now demanding that she should be made a Deputy Majority Leader before she comes, she should go to hell,” he made the claims on GTV Breaskfast Show on Monday, February 21..
“You don’t come to parliament and you are on TokTok dancing? Dome Kwabenya is not for Apostle Kwadwo Safo, get it straight. I am very furious because people are insulting me because I went there to campaign for her. Mike Oquaye the Speaker, the man that I respect very well, I campaigned against his son because Adwoa used my kids, calling me and begging me to help her. And now everybody is insulting me for doing that but I have not regretted, she is very responsible when it comes to the kids.”
“More than fifteen days and the law says fifteen days” he said when asked how many days the MP have absent.
He also alleged in another interview that some ¢120,000 was paid into the account of Ms Adwoa Safo by the Chief of Staff, Ms Frema Opera just to induce the MP to appear in Parliament among many other allegations.
“The Chief of Staff called me and I went, I swear [on] my mother’s grave, Chief of Staff gave me ¢120,000 and deposited into Adwoa Safo’s Fidelity Bank account.
“I took the money there into the Fidelity Account, ask her personal assistant if what I am saying is not the truth,” a furious Kennedy Agyapong said.
He added “Now we are in opposition, the way Adwoa Safo is treating the party, it is clearly showing that we are in opposition and this shouldn’t be tolerated at all,” Mr Agyepong was reported to have said.
