Ahanta West NPP Reiterate Resolve To Reconcile Aggrieved Members
Mr Anthony Nketsiah Kwofie, Ahanta West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reiterated that no stone would be left unturned to make sure that any aggrieved member of the party was settled.
He said he will also guard against issues leading to grievances going forward so that it does not give undue advantage to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency.
According to Mr Kwofie, who spoke in an interview with the Newsghana noted that some aggrieved members of the party in the 2020 general elections campaigned for ‘skirt and blouse’ voting which affected the parliamentary voting pattern.
Against this backdrop, he would liaise with them to resolve issues to make sure they fully support the course of the party in the constituency.
He recounted that though the NDC parliamentary candidate in the 2020 elections closed the gap he was not scared of losing the seat to the NDC or any other party.
He, therefore, explained that there was a little misunderstanding between two (2) of the parliamentary aspirants leading to apathy which went in favour of the NDC which he would make sure it does not repeat itself.
Mr Kwofie also expressed confidence in the newly formed team and said most of the elected executives have been in leadership except that their respective designations were changed.
He, therefore, called on the aspirants who contested and lose in the elections not to abandon the party or withdraw their support to the new team but solidly throw their weight behind them for a massive victory in 2024 as they determine to ‘break the 8’.
He further called on the members of the party especially, those in the constituency to remain calm and resolute in defending the party, reconcile with one another and keep faith in the party no matter who becomes the leader in any of the ranks or jurisdictions.
The Chairman thanked God and the delegates for the victory which he believed was for the party and not for the individuals.
He polled 506 votes against his contender Mr Kwesi Asuobenya Buah who polled 392 votes in the just ended constituency elections of the party.
