The Leader of the Economic Fighters League,Mr Ernesto Yeboah has said the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Defence Minister, Mr Dominic Nitiwul are complicit in the brutalities meted out on citizens of the country by the military.
That he said every ammunition discharged by the Ghana Armed Forces were done so in the name of the President and his Minister for defence, hence the two cannot be exonerated from the current happenings in the country, especially in the case when nothing had been done to bring perpetrators to book.
The Nkrumahist activist made the remarks on State of Affairs on GhOne TV on Thursday, July 1 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
“…….we have come to the point when we realize that this is a murderous government………Every bullet that comes out of the gun of solider comes in the name of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, comes in the name of the Defence minister and if nothing is done about it for months anybody can convince us that the president is not complicit in this matter and one is not being partisan in this matter”.
Ejura Killings
His comment was in reaction to recent brutalities perpetrated by the military on innocent and unarmed civilians, most especially recent killings in Ejura in the Ashanti Region following the death of a social activist.
The country has become tense following the death of social activist and member of the Economic Fighters League, Kaaka Anyass Ibrahim days after he was mob attacked at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
A demonstration demanding justice for his dead also saw two persons killed and four others injured when the military opened fire on the protesters.
The development had been widely criticized in the country with a three member committee of inquiry set to investigate the matter.
