A former Member of Parliament for the” Okaikwei North Constituency, Mr Fuseini Issah has asked Ghanaians to give the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government more years in power to turn the fortunes of the country around.
Speaking on TV3 NewDay on Monday, May 30 monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said time will enable government prioritize projects and also go beyond the factors that fight against government quest to transform the country and make it better.
He lament the eight year electoral cycle practice by the country does not help with development describing it as a top seated bee.
Mr Issah who is a member of the NPP’s Communication team requested Ghanaians keep the party in power for at least 24years to 32years to turn things around.
“I think that we probably need 24years, 32years to be really able to, … New Patriotic Party is that party that has the capacity. That is able to fix our fundamental problems and so if Ghanaians will give us. …. If every four years continue as a cycle. This four years, this is what I set out to do, and after that am going to do this in the next four years. If Ghanaians are patience with us and give us some 32years am sure that we will turn Ghana into a very developed country,” he said.
“..The challenge there is that Ghana is not an island ….That is why I have said that fixing these problems is not an event it is a process. We have these policies running over a while, even in the process of implementing these polices externalities and all of that, do affect and so over time you are able to go beyond these externalities and fix it”.
“That is why I said if Ghanaians are patience and they give us less than 24years, I am sure that we will fix all these problems and Ghana is going to be a place we wish to be in,” Mr Mr Fuseini Issah said when asked what his party has to show as far as government flagship programmes are concerned.
He made the comment when contributing to discussion on the just ended NPP Regional Executive elections held over the weekend.

He commended the party and congratulated the newly elected executives adding that he is hopeful they will bring victory to the party come 2024.
“ … I heard chairman Wontumi’s victory speech and I was quite inspired by it. He set the tone that we are ready for the next election and that is what this is about. We are putting officer in place to help us win the next elections that is what political parties are about and I think we need to commend ourselves as a political party to have gone through this process”.
“…..I don’t think we have done badly at all, we have done really good and I pray that those we have put in office are able to lead us to breaking the eight”.
