The Director of the Legal Affairs of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Abraham Amaliba has said former Deputy Speaker of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho has not been sacked from the party.
Mr Amaliba made the comment on TV3 NewDay on Friday, December 17, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
“Koku Anyidoho then Deputy General Secretary worked closely with John Mahama . If am not sure i wont be telling you with confident and these are matters of fact, the then Deputy General Deputy Secretary worked closely with John Mahama”.
“Now the second point is that Koku Anyidoho has not been sacked from the party,” Mr Amaliba said.
NDC sacks Koku Anyidoho over misconduct
Mr Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy Secretary of NDC was suspended some months ago and expelled from the party subsequently following a complaint of misconduct and anti-party brought against him by two members of the party.
The decision the party said was as a result of his constant social media outburst and utterances which they deem as an opposition to the party, its leaderships and its ideologies.
A letter announcing his expulsion said he was found guilty of misconduct and anti-party behavior by the Disciplinary Committee of the party.
Expulsion letter
“The committee’s report (which is attached for your perusal) found you guilty of the allegations of misconduct and anti party behavior and recommended your outright expulsion from the party” a statement announcing his expulsion on July 27 read.
“The Functional Executive Committee (FEC), acting in compliance of article 48(1) of the NDC constitution unanimously adopted the report and accepts full responsibility for your expulsion from the party” .
“You, are, therefore by the decision of FEC expelled from the National Democratic Congress and for that matter, you are no more recognized as a member of the party and cannot carry.
Koku Anyidoho gave us no option
Following the decision, the General Secretary of the party, the Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia saidMr Anyidoho left them no option hence his expulsion from the party.
He noted he evaded all attempt to haul him before the disciplinary committee via via letters, emails, courier services and even WhatsApp messages hence the decision.
“……..They have tried all the means. If you have read the report, we did, they use ordinary letters, he refuse to accept it. It was sent by courier which has been receipted and he actually indicated that he will not accept the letter on two occasions. As for WhatsApp email messages and email messages, several of them so they came to the conclusions that he was simply evading and so they then draw the conclusion and recommended his expulsion,” he told TV3 News360.
However, Mr Anyidoho in response to the comment noted he had not been served with any letters as mentioned.
He also said nobody had expelled him from the party since he had not received any letter to that effect.
