Samson Asaki Awingobit Picks Nomination Forms To Contest PNC National Chairman Position
Mr. Samson Asaki Awingobit has officially expressed his intention to contest for the National Chairmanship of the People’s National Convention (PNC). The internal elections are set to take place on August 31, 2024.
Earlier today, Mr. Awingobit’s media aide, accompanied by key party executives, collected his nomination forms at the PNC Headquarters in Accra, marking the formal beginning of his campaign for the leadership position. This move is in line with the party’s nomination process for aspiring candidates.
Mr. Awingobit’s political journey is a testament to his resilience and dedication. From his humble beginnings to becoming a significant figure in Ghana’s sociopolitical landscape, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to hard work and perseverance.
Notably, he served as the PNC’s parliamentary candidate for Ashaiman in 2008 and was the runner-up in the party’s 2020 flagbearership race, where he competed against Hon. David Apasera.
In addition to his political experience, Mr. Awingobit brings a strong background in trade and entrepreneurship, which he believes will contribute to his effectiveness as National Chairman.
He has pledged to conduct a fair and open campaign, adhering to the principles that govern the PNC’s internal election process.
Mr. Awingobit plans to launch a nationwide campaign in the coming days, aiming to connect with party members and supporters to share his vision and gather support for his candidacy.
