The Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency, in the Northern Region, Alhassan Bashir Fuseini has said the National Democratic Congress foresaw Ghana’s economy will fall into crises under the Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta from the very onset.
Speaking on Pan African TV’s Good Morning Africa on Friday, November 4, monitored by GhanaPlus.com, the man known for his fluency in local adages and proverbs said “You see, the testicles that will degenerate into hernia can be spotted the very day it descends”.
“From the very onset,we have warned and by 2019 it has become abundantly clear that the Finance Minister Hon. Ken Ofori- Atta was running the country into a ditch. We issued a name of conferences at which we use data to prove beyond every slightest of doubt that the Finance Minister and the Economic Management were running the country aground,” A. B. A Fuseini said.
He mentioned when the opposition NDC warned the government of the incompetency of the Finance Minister in the interest of the country, government did not pay heed, the result Ghanaians are experiencing today.
“They were running the economy aground and compromising the lives of our people, we did this even before Covid. The signs are beginning to show that the economy was on the down turn when many of the indicators were in the wrong direction and so for us it is in the pursue of the supreme national interest that we sought to bring this issues out and to ask the government to take away the Finance Minister,’ he said.
A.B. A Fuseini was reacting to the call by some members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament demanding the exist of the Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta from his duties and subsequent developments thereafter.
He was of the opinion, the President has no intention to relieve Mr Ken Ofori-Atta off his duty hence his excuses to the Majority.
He also expressed his surprise, the party which touted itself as one with the men cannot find a replace for the Finance Minister.
