TV3’s broadcaster and NewDay host, Mr Johnnie Beresford Hughes has taken a swipe at government officials over what he described as lack of maintenance culture in the country.
Speaking on TV3 NewDay on Monday, October 4, about the deplorable state of the Koforidua Jubilee Park he said “Now this is my task to you that we have to do this together as a people. Go to you jubilee Park take photos and videos of it and tag us TV3 and let call on our leaders to make sure that when we pay them money and we give them power and we give them authority and give them salaries and we give them board guards and we give the V8 and very thing else they demand and all the pecks, Per diem, allowance, traveling what what what, we expect them to work not to bobble over us and call themselves honourable.
His comment was in reaction to what he described as embarrassing sight and scene at the Koforidua Jubilee Park in the Eastern Region.
The GH¢5 billion facility constructed in 2017 as part of the country’s golden jubilee celebration he said had been overgrown with weeds , washes rooms had been taken over by dirty, unkept and filled with unpleasant smile and had no running water, portions of the structure had fallen off it places neither was it on electricity supply.
