Blakk Rasta’s Musevini Banned In Kenya On President’s Visit
Ugandan president Yowei Kaguta Museveni, a known, long time dictator arrived in Kenya for the East African Community (EAC) treaty of Accession on April 8, 2022.
According to the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “President Museveni will witness the signing ceremony of the treaty of Accession by the Democratic Republic of Congo to the East Africa Community (EAC).”
As his Kenyan hosts welcomed President Museveni at the airport, amidst diplomatic decorations, an anti-Museveni song, all of a sudden was playing on Kenya’s biggest roots radio station, Vybez Radio. It was titled BLOODY MUSEVENI by Ghana’s Blakk Rasta featuring Bobi Wine.
Embarrassing as this was to Museveni, the song rolled innocently to its full length as managers of the station rose to the occasion to pull down the song from the station’s collection of songs, permanently banning it on the station.
Bloody Museveni was released late last year by Blakk Rasta with additional lyrics from Uganda’s musician turned politician, Bobi Wine.
Only yesterday, Blakk Rasta’s Thief President (which was also reviewed on Ceaze & Sikkle on Vybez Radio a month ago) was targeted for cyber attack and subsequent pull-down from YouTube. As it stands now, Blakk Rasta’s YouTube account is still in limbo awaiting restoration after the hack down.
Blakk Rasta believes he is a messenger of Jah and ready to speak the unadulterated truth no matter who gets caught in the cross fire. The artiste has been a victim of no-airplay on some radio and TV stations in Ghana for brazenly-abrasive lyrics that some media houses are not politically comfortable with but, that does not seem to slow down the acceleration of the Rastaman.
