Daddy Lumba’s family has expressed deep suspicion over the insistence on holding his funeral in December, stating that a “comprehensive autopsy and parallel investigations” into the circumstances of his death are still ongoing in both Ghana and Germany.

The family highlighted that “multiple conflicting accounts of the events leading to his death have been presented.”

They argue that attempting to bury the late musician before these investigations conclude is “not only irresponsible, it is highly suspicious.”

The family is directly contesting a publicly announced December funeral date, which they attribute to the dissolved funeral committee and Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu.

They emphasize that the pressure to proceed with a burial serves “no legitimate purpose” while critical questions about his death remain unanswered.

The statement underscores the family’s commitment to “a full and truthful investigation” to determine the true cause of death, positioning this as a prerequisite for any dignified funeral rites.
