Ghanaian Television personality and entrepreneur,Ms Delories Frimpong Manso affectionately called Delay in the media circles has express worry over the sudden obsession for outward things by the youth in the country.
According to her, that explains why today’s young people will go to the extent of undergoing life threatening procedures just to make changes to their bodies.
Delay questioned when the country got to this point where everything is about the superficiality.
“There is this sudden craze for superficiality. That is why today someone can say my tommy has become big so I am going to do surgery to fix it . Since when did we get here,?” she said in a viral video sighted by GhanaPlus.com on Instagram
“It is something that me, I can never do. Maybe I am primitive but where my mind is. I have wore this dress, if you want to know how I am, it is slippers am wearing here. I am a very grounded, simple; I don’t worry myself in the world. For me, if I wake up, it is only my work that I think about; I wake up, go and do my work and return home”.
Delay was speaking at the Refined Vessel Chapel International’s Youth Experience 2022 at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region.
Delay blames celebrities for putting pressure on the youth
The 2021 EMY Africa Awards’ Young Achiever Female’, partly blamed her colleague celebrities for putting undue pressure on the younger generation by flaunting their wealth on social media.
“I understand, some of the celebrities are partly responsible for putting pressure on people. Their rooms, then they travel to Dubai, then their cars and it put pressure on the young girls and they also want to achieve same by all means and come and flaunt it. Where from all this? Delay said.
“The devil is taking advantage of the social media and people are also doing things paa,” she added.
The Ghanaian entrepreneur laments, young girls of today go as far as allowing men have inappropriate s*xual engagement with them just to pay them dollars to fund their extravagant expenses and advice carefulness since there is nothing new under sun.
Citing Hungarian-American socialite and actress, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s life expereince, she said if care is not taking the riches, wealth and properties they so badly seek will be found but at the expense of their life.
“So all that we are doing, we are only playing, If we are not careful, we will get properties and money in exchange for death and troubles,” Delay cautioned.
