GIJ’s DJ Dacosta Set To Drop His Latest ‘Basic 1.0’ Mixtape On Mother’s Day.


Young Student Disk Joker(DJ) of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Dacosta J. Amoah who is popularly known by the craft name DJ. Da Costa is set to release his latest mixtape dubbed ‘BASIC 1.0’ on mother’s Day, May 8, 2022.
According to DJ DaCosta, Basic 1.0 is a 54-minute duration Mixtape made up of about 40 to 50 tracks. It is an Afrobeat-dominated mixtape with fractions from other genres such as Amapiano, Reggae-Dancehall, hiplife, hip-hop, and several others.
In an exclusive interview with a freelance blogger Isaac Donkor Distinguished, he elucidated that, the mixtape is dubbed ‘BASIC 1.0’ because that is the first mixtape ever since he rebranded from DJ schoolboy to his recent brand DJ DaCosta and further stated that the mixtape is a special gift to his mother who is the biggest inspiration in his life which is the reason he decided to release it on Mothers Day.
“I decided to title it ‘BASIC 1.0’ because this is the first mixtape I have done ever since I changed my brand name from DJ Schoolboy to my current one DJ DaCosta. And as to why I am releasing it on mother’s Day, it is a special present to my mother who is my biggest inspiration in life.” He explained.
According to DJ DaCosta, he believes ‘BASIC 1.0’ is a special mixtape because it has lots of hit tracks from the start to the end, tracks such as Shatta Wale’s ‘On God’ Kwaku The Traveler by Black Sherif as well as several mind-blowing hit songs.
“This is a very special mixtape because it has lots of popular songs with good lyrics such as On God, Kwaku the Traveller, and other hit tracks that cheer people up even when they are bored.” He said.
