It’s wack Angelique Kidjo won GRAMMYS over Wizkid

Musician King Promise says it is wack for Wizkid to lose GRAMMYS to Angelique Kidjoe with all the work he has done.

Kidjo’s ‘Mother Nature‘ won in the Best Global Music album category at the 2022 Grammys awards. While receiving her plaque, the singer said that it is a big win for Africa, as she also lauded her fellow nominees.

But speaking in an interview on Beat FM in Nigeria, King Promise indicated that it was unfair that Wizkid could not win the award.

He argues that the Nigerian artiste has done it all in the music industry especially in Africa and globally and therefore needed to be awarded for the the Best Global Music album category at the 2022 Grammys

King Promise, however, acknowledged that Angelique Kidjo has made exploits in the industry but believes that Wizkid should have been honoured.

“I think it’s just wack that he didn’t win. Honestly I think it’s wack. No disrespect, ermm Angelique Kidjo, legend, love and respect her but I just think what I think and everyone has an opinion. I don’t know what else he has to do. This guy has been a pace setter, he’s done lots of great stuff, put beautiful music out there that has changed…It shifted the whole world to African music, he’s one of the pioneers but at the end of the day, big Wiz is big Wiz, he has a lot of stuff coming, we have a lot of stuff coming.

I’m super excited for what he has coming because see Wiz, I feel like he hasn’t even scratched the surface because when you hear the kind of stuff that man is working on it’s just magic,” he said.
