Lack of good policies to blame for Kumawood collapse – Movie Director

Popular Kumawood Movie Director Akwasi Boadu has observed that God will never forgive his colleagues Directors and Producers if they are unable to revive the dying Kumawood Movie Industry.
According to Director Akwasi Boadu, Kumawood Producers and Directors including Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) inability to implement good policies to protect the industry caused the downfall of the hitherto vibrant Kumawood movie industry.
Speaking in an interview with AMBASSADOR TV GH monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Director Akwasi Boadu said “God added the Movie industry to Ghana as part of our natural resources but my colleagues and I failed to protect the movie industry”
“The new generation will never forgive us if they come to realize that we couldn’t revive Kumawood movie industry after its downfall for so many years” he stated
“We failed to regulate the industry to enforce producers and directors to produce quality movies so the majority of producers and directors who were producing movies were lacking knowledge about the industry,” Director Akwasi Boadu told Osei Kwadwo.
He added “There are some producers who invested in the industry just to make money to start their new business because they were not having any passion for the industry”
“In the journalism field, it will be very difficult to join the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) unless you meet their terms and conditions but it wasn’t like that in the Kumawood movie industry”
“It is not too late to make an amendment and follow the new trend which will help us revive the industry if not God will not even forgive us for collapsing the industry”
