Mahama must go for a 3rd term
Popular Kumawood Actor Joseph Osei, affectionately known called Wayoosi, has vowed to champion a nationwide campaign for President John Dramani Mahama to begin an amendment of the 1992 constitution, which will permit him to run for president for a 3rd term.
According to Wayoosi, Ghanaians need President John Dramani Mahama’s knowledge, skills, good governance and leadership to develop Ghana.
His comment comes on the back of a declaration by President John Mahama himself that he will not be seeking a third term when Ghana goes to the polls in 2028.
Before President Mahama’s comment, the leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) embarked on a demonstration against President Mahama over allegations he intented to amend the constitution to run for a 3rd term.
Speaking in an interview with AMBASSADOR TV host OSEI KWADWO monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Wayoosi said “We should ask God why he gave President John Mahama 2/3 members of parliament because since 1992, no president or ruling party has been able to attain those seats in parliament”
He explained, “President Mahama is more competent and has good leadership enough to be a former that’s why God gave him 2/3 seats in parliament to amend the constitution and seek another term for the sake of the development of this country”
Wayoosi explained Majority of Ghanaians have not been happy since President Mahama declared that he will never be on the ballot for 2028 general elections.
“Mr President, Ghana needs your good governance and leadership to develop Ghana. Ghanaians are crying for you. “Yes some of us know you don’t want to contest again because of what a few people will say, but the majority of Ghanaians are crying for you”
