They didn’t care about us — Gisela Amponsah exposes Glitch Africa’s PR tactics

Social media influencer and former podcast host, Gisela Amponsah, has revealed troubling details about her time on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast, accusing the show’s producers of deliberately paying bloggers to insult and attack the very co-hosts meant to carry the show.
Speaking on The Creative Inc channel alongside her best friend Ama Burland, Gisela claimed that producers at Glitch Africa—the platform behind the podcast—chose controversy over integrity in a calculated bid to gain online traction.
“One thing that got to me was, I get it, you have to promote your show and all of that,” Gisela began. “I don’t know if you believe in the personalities you are putting on the show, that’s one thing—but to pay bloggers who intentionally insult them for them to trend is another thing.”
She explained that her disillusionment deepened after confronting the producers about repeated online attacks directed at a specific co-host.
According to Gisela, the team denied having any role in promoting such negativity, a claim that later proved to be dishonest.
“After we found out about that, I just felt very out of place,” she said. “I felt these people didn’t care about me because how do you lie to your people and say that no, you are not paying anyone—especially when I draw your attention to it that this person keeps attacking one particular co-host, keeps insulting her, calling her all sorts of names—and you people claim you are not paying anybody like that to promote the podcast.”
The final straw for Gisela came when a known blogger, believed to have been part of the orchestrated smear campaign, prematurely leaked internal decisions and content from the podcast.
“We later come to find out that this same person comes to announce we are leaving the podcast. It doesn’t make sense because who else will tell the person? And also, how does this person even get the first trailers before we even have it?”
