We need God's presence like oxygen

Diana Hamilton has described worship as the foundation of her ministry, saying God’s presence remains central to everything she does.

During her interview on The Afternoon Show monitored by MyNewsGh, she spoke about the spiritual meaning behind The Good Place.

“It was my love message to God,” she said. “It was my ‘me and Him’ time.”

She recalled that when the song was recorded, the atmosphere was intense.

“We had people in the room,” she said. “And I knew what we felt there was special.”

Her prayer, she explained, was that listeners would experience the same connection.

“I prayed that people would feel what we felt,” she said.

Diana also shared a message she received after the song’s release.

“A lady told me she had been battling depression,” she said. “That morning, the song came up first, and she decided not to harm herself.”

She described the testimony as one of the moments that confirmed her purpose.

“For that, I am grateful,” she said.

Speaking about gospel music today, Diana said she believes there is a renewed focus on worship.

“For me, this season is about presence,” she said. “Intimacy with God.”

She linked this message to her annual worship event, The Awake Experience, which marks 12 years in 2026.

“It’s happening on February 15 in Accra and February 22 in Kumasi,” she announced.

The theme this year is “Dwelling in His Presence.”

“God’s presence is not a luxury anymore,” Diana said. “It’s a lifeline. We need it like oxygen.”

She encouraged believers to pursue a deeper relationship with God.

“Without Him, we are nothing,” she added. “With Him, we are complete.”
