2021 Sheik Sharubutu Ramadan Cup : Volta Region to make maiden appearance

The 6th and the 2021 edition of the Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup will kick off on May 15 as 24 communities battle it out for the ultimate.

The official Draw for this year’s edition was  held on Tuesday, 4th May  at the Accra Sports Stadium with a support from the Youth and Sports ministry.

Twenty four Communities will participate in the knockout  competition to be staged at the Fadama Astro Turf betwen Saturday, 15th and Sunday, 16th May, 2021.

Volta Region will make their maiden appearance in this season’s competition in the Chief Imam Ramadan Cup with Hohoe Zongo joining the competition this year.

The region thus becomes only the third to join the competition, which is in its sixth edition.

The Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup is organized yearly to honour his Eminence, the national Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and to foster peace and unity among muslim communities in the country.

The competition could not be held last year following the Covid-19 pandemic.
