2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghana play host to Madagascar in Group E opener
The Black Stars of Ghana will begin their 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar on home turf.
The four-time African Champions will play Madagascar before traveling to take on Central Africa Republic in May.
Ghana will then host Angola in their third group game in September.
On Tuesday, April 19, the draw for the 2023 AFCON took place in South Africa, with the Black Stars being assigned to Group E where they will face Madagascar, Angola, and the Central African Republic.
The first two qualifying games will be played on the weekend of 30 May and with the return matches two weeks later on 14 July with matchday 3 and 4 games set for September 19-27, 2022.
The final round of matches will be played in March 2023.
The two top teams from each group will secure qualification to the African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ivory Coast next year.
The tournament will be played from 23 June and conclude on 23 July in Abidjan.
