Asante Kotoko set to leave Justice Blay hanging, club won’t sign player NOW
Reports reaching the desk of FMIG reveal that Asante Kotoko are set to develop cold feet in their attempts to sign Justice Blay.
The midfield enforcer has been on Kotoko’s radar ever since his loan spell at the club came to an end. In most cases, variances between the transfer fees by both parties has seen the deal fail to materialize.
The latest development that FMIG is aware of is Asante Kotoko have decided against signing the player during the current transfer window which expires on Saturday.
The player who is priced at GHs 70,000 by current club Medeama SC suffered a serious injury last seaosn and is only recovering. Besides his contract with Medeama runs out in 3 months time.
Considering the above, Asante Kotoko believe it won’t be shrewd to splash the cash on a player who becomes a free agent early next year.
Blay has already indicated his unflinching willingness to play for Asante Kotoko so the club remains confident that his stave won’t change when January 2022 comes.
Justice Blay became a fan favorite due to his commitment and solid displays for Asante Kotoko during a 2 year loan spell.
Fans are keen to see him wear the Kotoko shirt again, but it looks increasingly likely that will have to wait until after January 2022.
