Atletico Madrid commemorates Ghana's 65th independence anniversary

Atletico Madrid, a Spanish club, took to Twitter to wish all Ghanaians a happy Independence Day.

Atletico Madrid wished their Ghanaian fans a happy Independence Day in a heartwarming tweet.

The Spanish club has a history with Ghana, with a number of Ghanaian players having played for the Rojiblancos in previous years.

Saddick Adams, a former U20 striker, was briefly on Atletico’s books, while Thomas Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico in the summer of 2020.

The Central Region’s Cape Coast Stadium hosted Ghana’s 65th Independence Day procession.

A variety of officials attended the event, including the special guest, Prime Minister of the Republic of Barbados, Mia Mottley.
