The black stars of Ghana will set to lock horns with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, tomorrow, March 25, 2022, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The two countries have always been described as Sweet Rivals in every  sector of life, ranging from the GHANA-NAIJA Jollof, with no exception to their football   encounters.

Football meetings between both sides has always been a much anticipated one, as they are set to have their 9thWorld Cup qualification match been played ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The heated sweet rivalry has risen again with many fans from both Sides predicting to walk over the other to be able to book their ticket to the upcoming World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Now let’s dive into the history about the football meetings between Ghana and Nigeria.

The Black Stars of Ghana met The Super Eagles of Nigeria for the first time on October 16, 1950, where Ghana triumphs over their Nigerian counterparts in a 4-1 victory.

Both sides has met for 56 several occasions in all, The black Stars has claimed 26 wins while Nigeria has won 12 times with 19 ending in draw.

The last meeting was on January 29, 2014, where Ghana won 4-1 on penalties after the match ended in a goalless draw.

In World Cup qualifier matches, both sides has had 8 encounters making it the 9th time tomorrow, both teams has gotten 2 equal wins with 4 ending in draw. Nigeria defeated Ghana by 3-0 in the last World Cup qualifier which was on 29th July, 2001.

The two sides has played 4 matches in the month of March, the Super Eagles has won a game while the rest has ended in draw with 5 goals recorded.

With this records and statistics one can conclude that The Black Stars of Ghana are ahead of their Nigerian opponents in terms of Head-to-Head.
