CAF President Patrice Motsepe calls on Vice President Bawumia
Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe called on the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia upon arriving in the West African country with his family for a two-day working visit.
The meeting happened at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday morning.
“This morning, I welcomed Dr Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to the Jubilee House ahead of his participation in the Youth Connekt Africa Summit in the country,” shared on the Vice President’s Facebook page.
“We discussed, among other things, developing African football to create more opportunities for African youth, as well as strengthening CAF inter-club competitions to make it more financially rewarding for African football clubs.”
Motsepe, who replaced Madagascar’s Ahmad Ahmad as CAF President in March, expressed delight to be the main speaker at the Youth connect Africa Summit at the International Conference Centre in Accra on Wednesday afternoon.
“I feel honoured to be in Ghana to participate in this Youth summit and also to meet the football community. I feel very proud of Ghana and your achievements as a country,” Motsepe said
“It’s good to help the Youth and so I am glad to be here to share ideas with the Youth and also to meet the President of the Republic of Ghana and other top officials.”
“You inspire me and all of us. Ghanaians do so well all over the world, my favourite professor back in school was a Ghanaian – Philip Amoah and he was such a brilliant man. Ghanaians work hard, and study hard and have integrity.”
