Confirmed : Ismail Abdul Ganiyu appointed new captain for Asante Kotoko
Asante Kotoko have confirmed the appointment defender Abdul Ganiyu Ismail has new captain of the club ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The defender who renewed his contract with the club on Wednesday takes over the leadership role from Felix Annan who parted was with the club at the end of the 2020/2021 season.
Ganiyu will be assisted by goalkeeper Razak Abalora and Mudasiru Salifu.
Appointment of new leaders became necessary following the departure of Felix Annan and deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi transfer-listed.
The club will be traveling to Dubai on Thursday to continue their pre-season training.
