""Decision to start Wollacott was recommended by Richard Kingson" - Milovan Rajevac

Head Coach of the Black Stars Milovan Rajevac has opened up on why Swindon Town Joojo Wollacott started for the Black Stars in the past World Cup Qualifiers.

Wollacott was handed his first two starts in the past World Cup Qualifiers against Zimbabwe after receiving his maiden call-up ahead of the third & fourth round of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

The decision to start the England-based Goalkeeper of Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Richard Atta came as a surprise to many football connoisseurs as many had doubts about his capabilities and also the fact that he plays in the fourth-tier of English Football.

Wollacott’s performances, however, were excellent as he barely put a foot wrong in any of the two games he kept the post, and Head Coach of the Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac has revealed the decision to start Wollacott ahead of the others was upon the recommendation of Goalkeepers trainer of the team, Richard Kingson.

“It was the work of Richard Kingston because he did the scouting work and he suggested this goalkeeper to me and I watched many videos of him and the decision was made to include him in the squad and when he came, he proved himself and got the chance which he used very well”, Coach Milovan Rajevac disclosed.
