Emmanuel Nettey confirms Hearts of Oak’s double ambitions
Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey has revealed the club is keen on winning a league and Cup double.
Nettey was part of the Hearts setup that recently secured the league title with few games to spare. The league triumph was masterminded by the tactical nous of Coach Samuel Boadu and is Hearts’ first GPL conquest since 2009.
There have been talks of Hearts of Oak, adding the FA Cup to their haul this season to complete a league and Cup double. With some players and Officials choosing to remain evasive on such talk, Emanuel Nettey has decided to make clear their ambition in an exclusive interview with Asaase Radio.
Nettey believes Hearts of Oak still have the hunger to pursue the FA Cup and make whole their double ambition.
“There’s still some hunger burning because the season is not yet over. We are done with the league now, we have another competition we are playing in,” he said.
“And that is the mindset we have. We have to go all out. We need to win that, a double won’t be bad considering how long we’ve starved for trophies. So if we should get the double, I think it’s going to be very very great for us,” he concluded.
Hearts of Oak will face Elmina Sharks away from home in the Quarter finals of the ongoing FA Cup with the winner likely to face Medeama SC or Attram De Visser in the semi finals.
