FC Nordjaelland coach describes young Ghanaian goalkeeper Emmanuel Ogura as new Andre Onana after debut

FC Nordsjælland coach Flemming Pedersen has heaped praise on young Ghanaian goalkeeper Emmanuel Ogura after making his debut in the Danish top-flight.

The 19-year-old made history on Sunday as he became the youngest Ghanaian goalkeeper to feature in a competitive game for an European club.

He made his debut in the Danish top-flight league for Nordsjaelland against Copenhagen on Sunday in the Super Liga .

Ogura, a graduate from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana made the starting lineup in that big game against the Danish giants.

However, Emmanuel Ogura’s first game for Nordsjaelland ended in defeat as he conceded five goals against FC Copenhagen at the Right to Dream Park.

Despite conceding many goals, his trainer was impressed with his performance describing him as the new Andre Onana.

“I am very pleased with Ogura’s performance in the sense that he plays with an offensive mindset. He was already out at the start of the match, actually wildly far out, grabbing a long throw. He put himself in respect and he was not afraid to play with out on the field’

“He is a modern goalkeeper and we call him ‘Mini-Onana’. Obviously, there are times where he got a little at half distance, but that is being worked on. It’s always cool for us to see a young debutant from our own academies”
