Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila features as Saham Club secure semis spot in Omani Cup

Ghana international Rashid Sumaila was in action as his outfit Saham Club secured qualification to the semi-final of the Omani Professional League Cup on Friday.

The 28-year-old lasted 50 minutes as his side played a 1-1 draw against Al-Nahda to book a semi-final spot.

The former Al-Qadsia marksman has been impressive since joining the Omani club and will hope to lift the covetous trophy with the side.

Sumaila joined the Omani Professional League side months ago after inking a one-year contract with an option to extend as he joins on a free transfer.

He featured for Ebusua Dwarfs and Asante Kotoko before he left for greener pastures.

He has had stints with Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Gharafa, Red Star Belgrade and others.

Sumaila has capped 10 times for the Black Stars since his debut in 2012.
