Ghana FA yet to conclude talks on two friendly matches for Black Stars before 2021 AFCON

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is still yet to finalise talks for two friendly matches for the Black Stars.

As part of efforts to ensure the national team is well-prepared for the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the Ghana FA has decided to arrange three friendlies for the team.

Already, an agreement has been reached with the Algeria FA for their national team to play against the Black Stars before next month’s tournament.

That friendly is scheduled to be played in Doha, Qatar, on January 5, 2022.

For the other two friendly matches, the GFA is according to sources finding it difficult to conclude talks.

Nonetheless, the FA is determined to find the two opponents for the Black Stars for friendlies expected to be played on December 28, and January 1, respectively.

After the three friendlies in Doha, the Ghana team will travel straight from Qatar to Cameroon on January 7 for the start of the delayed 2021 TotalEnergies AFCON.
