The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, in the Volta Region, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has reacted to the exit of the senior national team, Black Stars of Ghana from the African Cup of Nation (AFCON) ongoing in Cameroon.
Speaking on Alhaji and Alhaji on Pan African TV on Saturday, January 22, monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said “Sadly Sena not many countries make it to the international news for the wrong reasons twice in a week. We were already being discussed by the international media only on Tuesday night about the abysmal performance of the Black Stars”.
“The Black Stars manage to make the tiny volcanic jibilajo nation Comoros some over night football heroes. There is massive jubilation in the country. Everybody was wondering how did the Black Stars fall so mightily. Humpty dumpty’s fall was not this colossal. The worst performance of the Black Stars in any tournament and so we have been in the international news already for all the wrong reasons as to how come our football is in such a sorry mess. We were one time celebrated football nation. We were the first country to win the trophy four times. We are relying in pass glory. It been about 40years since we saw the African trophy in Accra or Ghana for that matter,” Mr Ablakwa said.
Black Stars exist AFCON
