Introduce First Lady’s Cup – Madam Nsiah Asare calls on GHALCA
Cheif Executive Officer of Hasaacas Ladies Evelyn Nsiah Asare has called on GHALCA to introduce First Lady’s Cup in honour of the wife of the President.
The President’s Cup is a competition annually organized by GHALCA to honour the sitting Head of State of Ghana on the country’s Republic Day.
Two local club’s are mostly selected to lockhorns with the winner taking home a trophy and a cash prize.
Ahead of this year’s Independence Day celebration, Evelyn Nsiah Asare who doubles as Board member of Asante Kotoko has called on GHALCA to introduce the women’s version in honour of the first Lady Madam Rebecca Akuffo Addo.
“The first ladies of this country have over the years done tremendous job in support of the president.
“Hence playing a first lady’s cup isn’t out of order.
“I’m introducing this idea to the chairman of GHALCA Mr Fianoo to have a second look at it.
She added “I wrote a proposal and discussed it with the former Minister for Youth and Sports, it was Just unfortunate that Covid stroke around that time.
“I trust the first lady won’t hesitate in supporting this agenda hence let’s think about it.”
